Dr. Stefanos Maltezos
Dr Maltezos co-founded the Effra Clinic in 2015 with his colleagues Dr Whitwell and Dr Paliokosta. He also works as a Consultant in the adult ADHD and autism service at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Maltezos qualified as a doctor after attending medical school at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He trained in Adult Psychiatry in Athens, and he completed an MSc in Health management and economics before continuing his professional career in London, at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust where he has been working in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr Maltezos has been very interested in neurodevelopmental conditions from the start of his post-graduate career and during his specialty training. He has held a research fellow post working in research projects at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and he has run training and teaching for clinicians in the field of Neurodevelopmental disorders for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and UK Adult ADHD Network. He has also held the role of Associate Medical Director for the neurodevelopmental pathway for SLaM in the past.
As well as a special interest in ADHD and Autism, Dr Maltezos has always been interested in education and training and the neurobiology of neurodevelopmental conditions.
