Mr Jake Alberts

Learning Disability Nurse

When first volunteering for a charity for children with disabilities in 2012, Jake discovered his passion for neurodivergence and disabilities. He has since dedicated his career to working with, and advocating for, this client group. Jake has a first class degree in Learning Disability Nursing (2018) and a Masters in Public Health (2024). Jake is a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

My Story

Experience


Jake has worked from the NHS for over 5 years in autism services both in diagnostic services, and delivering interventions for people with neurodevelopmental diagnoses. He is currently a service lead for a community adult service for people with an autism diagnosis.


Jake has over 14 years experience working with people with neurodevelopmental diagnoses and/or intellectual disabilities. He is a specialist nurse dedicated to this field.


He is currently involved in research investigating specialist social prescribing for autistic adults, as a way to reduce isolation and improve health and wellbeing.
